Way to fail, faily.
Dec. 1st, 2008 07:53 pmCarlton, wtf r u doin?
If you're going to switch charities just DO it instead of making up not-science reasons for doing so. Flossing Christ!
Seriously. While CF is largely a Caucasian-population issue - which affects both men and women alike, thanks muchly you darling brain-trusts - there were kids of other ethnicities at Couchiching when it was a CF camp. They were in the minority, and most of them had one Caucasian parent (this means it's easier for the gene-carrier shuffle to take place) - but it's not like any of us gave a damn, we all had the same issue to varying degrees and all cracked the same hideous potty jokes and all drove the staff insane and all made fun of the inevitably-too-stiff Jell-o. (The bigass kitchen fridge was a bit...TOO good at chilling things.)
Yes, I said 'we'; I have CF. No, I'm not an invalid. XD My pancreas is stupid except for making insulin (thank you pancreas), my lungs are quite happy for the most part (with regular maintenance), and I put a lot of salt on things, which makes people think I'm going to have a heart attack at thirty. it's kind of funny to watch people actually MAKE the @_o face at you.
So, yeah, I don't care what charity they choose to donate to instead; I don't care that they want to donate somewhere else. I'm just kind of snickering and headdesking simultaneously at their strawgraspity fail-science.
